It is an inevitable trend for all countries around the world to attach great importance to enviroment protection, so the biodegradable cohesive bandages from SUNMED have become very popular globally. However, many people do not know how to store biodegradable products to extend their lifespan.
It is well known that the environment has a significant impact on biodegradable self-adhesive bandages. The influence is mainly reflected in three aspects: temperature, humidity and oxygen concentration.
1)Temperature: Higher temperatures generally accelerate the degradation process. In industrial composting environments (50–60°C, 90% humidity), degradation speed can be significantly increased, while home composting environments (20–30°C) may require a longer degradation time.
2)Humidity: Appropriate humidity levels facilitate microbial activity, thereby promoting degradation. We recommend adding desiccants to box or carton of the biodegradable products.
3)Oxygen: Degradation typically occurs faster under aerobic conditions, as many microorganisms require oxygen for metabolic activities.
Storage conditions: We recommend storing biodegradable cohesive bandages in a dry, low-temperature and dark environment. If conditions permit, an oxygen-free environment is also highly recommended. On this occasion, the shelf life of biodegradable cohesive bandages can reach 2 years.
